PostWed Sep 26, 2012 7:32 pm

Hi I've just downloaded DaVinci Resolve 9 Lite, it launches normally but, when i try to access to some folder containing some video footage, when the program tries to give me the preview of the files, the program freezes and the Mac goes in Kernel Panic, rebooting.

Re: Kernel Panic when trying to launch DaVinci Resolve 9 Lit

PostThu Sep 27, 2012 7:14 am

Your 2009 iMac with the Radeon 4850 graphics chip is not supported by Resolve.

To use Resolve on an iMac, you must have at least an early 2011 iMac with a Radeon 6000 series graphics chip.

If you run the Resolve installer again, you will see a Config guide PDF file in the installer you can drag to your desktop, and see the supported Mac system types.

Hi there,

I got exactly the same message and my imac asked me to hold the power button.

I believe my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 5750 .. nevermind :(

Would this have damaged my computer trying to run Davinci resolve lite 9??

thanks for your help

Installing Resolve on unsupported hardware should not damage your computer. However, if installing Resolve on an unsupported computer causes a serious crash, then that could possibly cause file system issues, depending on what else the system was doing when it crashed.

What model is your iMac? does it have a 6000 series graphics chip set? If not, it will not run Resolve.
