DaVinci Resolve is not releasing my audio device when open

DaVinci Resolve is not releasing my audio device. On all other software, IE. Adobe Premiere Pro, Studio One 5 Pro, etc... they will release the audio in the background so I can keep all open and go from one to the other and all works perfectly. BUT when I use DaVinci Resolve I have to completely close ALL software and only have one open at a time. this is a major issue.

Not sure that's a universal issue John, so it might be something specific to your system /settings. In Resolve Preferences, what Audio I/O Engine are you using? And what Playback processing buffer size?

Audio I/O Engine is ASIO, same as all my other Audio and Video software. And Playback processing buffer size is Auto.

I don’t see any place to set it to release audio in background, or a setting like that.

This is a MAJOR ISSUE. if I forget to close my audio editor, and open DR it will lock up the sound on everything. and nothing will work. I have to reboot the computer to get things working right again. What a major problem to have to completely close and open programs each time I want to use them!

Same for me... Most DAWs and Video Editors have a "release driver in background" option. I can't find it in DR either, please help!
