Free to Studio 18 License

PostSat Jun 11, 2022 7:14 pm

Hi all,

I've been playing around with the Free version of Resolve and today decided to buy the Studio version. I now have my activation, but wondering:

1. Do I need to UNINSTALL the Free version first?
2. Is there a separate installer for the Studio version I need to download?
2a. The link on the purchase page, was a link to v17...since most of my work is personal projects and hobby related, I don't mind running a beta version in "production." Is that possible or do I need to wait for an official release?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to asking lots of questions!

1. Not on a Mac, on a PC it might be better to use the Uninstaller.
2. Yes, you need to download a different version with Studio in the name.
2a. You can use 18 with the key.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Thanks! That seemed to work!

I also found the best way to download Studio 18 (at least while it's still in beta) was from the support area: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/suppor ... and-fusion

When I bought my license, the download link (understandably) offers the latest version of 17.

Thanks again!
Dan
