Remove Available Audio Plugins From Available List

PostSat Dec 10, 2022 5:52 pm

Hello All

In my Preferences/Audio Plugins/Available Plugsins I show a series of AU plugins that are no longer available on my 2021 MBP M1Max operating under MacOS 12.6. I have disabled these plugins and I have removed all files on my computer (Library, Application Support, etc) that might have contained these plugins. Yet, they still show up as a list of available plugins. How do I get Davinci Resolve Preferences to stop showing these plugins as they no longer exist.

Manually delete the AU Config file from the following path with Resolve closed:
Users/Home/Library/Preferences/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fairlight/Effects

Restart Resolve and allow the host to rescan.
⟦ Fairlight Studio Console ⊕ Merging Hapi • Anubis • Ravenna CoreAudio Premium VAD ⟧
⟦ Mac Pro 7,1 Rack • Resolve Studio 19.0 • macOS 14.5 (23F79) ⟧

Hi Reynaud:

Thank you for the suggestion but it did not work. This is what I did:

- Closed Davinci Resolve.
- Deleted AUConfigruration.xml
- Relaunched Davinci Resolve.

When I opened DRS Preferences/Audio Plugins, all of the AU plugins had been restored which surprised me because I have gone through every possible location on this Mac where these plugins could be hiding.

Thoughts?

Which plugins are still loading? Are these the default macOS plugins or third party Audio Unit plugins?

Which plugins are located in the following path?
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

Are any AU plugins installed in your Home folder?
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
⟦ Fairlight Studio Console ⊕ Merging Hapi • Anubis • Ravenna CoreAudio Premium VAD ⟧
⟦ Mac Pro 7,1 Rack • Resolve Studio 19.0 • macOS 14.5 (23F79) ⟧

Hi Reynaud:

These are third party plugins. I found the Acon Digital plugins at /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and removed them.

I am still seeking to remove the RX 9 plugins. They are not at either at: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components or ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

Might you know where the RX 9 plugins are hiding?

RX installs to the default paths. Confirm that the VST and VST3 folders do not contain unwanted plugins.

Hi Reynaud:

I found RX plugins at the following locations:

— AAX: Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Avid > Audio > Plug-ins
— RTAS: Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Digidesign > Audio > Plug-ins
— AU: Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > Components
— VST: Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > VST
— VST 3: Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > VST 3

I deleted them all. Also, I deleted AU Config file again and rebooted the machine. All RX 9 plugins are no longer showing up in DRS Audio Plugins.

Thank you for your help and patience.
