Stabilization - nothing happens

PostSun Dec 25, 2022 10:17 pm

Hi,

I have read a similar post on this but it does not seem to relate to my experience. I have a single clip which is a 10 sec excerpt of a longer clip. It has a lot of movement in it as it is from a moving quad bike and I would like to see if I can take some of the jerkiness out of it. I have tried applying stabilization in numerous settings using both the edit page and the color page. Resolve does analyze and appears to complete the process but then stops doing anything and absolutely nothing changes in my clip. If I switch stabilize off nothing changes either and nothing shows in history. Yet Resolve is still open and able to move on to other actions. Any suggestions?

Cheers Andrew

Try the various stabilizer options... some work better than others depending on quite a few factors. Even try the classic stabilizer and see how that works for you.

Thanks for the reply Bruce.

I have tried numerous variations of setting including extreme ones which would not look good but would produce visible cropping and artifacts. The issue here is the stabilization is not being done - when I say nothing happens I mean it has not done anything at all. It seems to be failing straight after the analysis stage. The failure does not seem to be crashing Resolve but the stabilization is not showing in history and when I go on to try doing it on the color page on a new node (not really sure if that is how it works there), the node shows no content either (and the stabilization graph shows no content).

Cheers Andrew

That GPU can't handle any demanding tasks in UHD. Try HD instead.
