fade on a polygon in fusion

PostSat Jan 14, 2023 9:34 pm

Is there a node to fade in a polygon in the fusion page?
The end result would be the object defined by the polygon would fade in.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

So it's a cut out object that you want to fade in and out?
You can do this in the merge tool where you combine the two.
Or you can use a brightness/contrast tool with R/G/B/A all checked and then animate the gain from 1 to 0. There are a couple of other options as well, but these are two of the ones that are used the most.

The Polygon node (and the other similar nodes such as Rectangle and Ellipse) has a "Level" attribute in its inspector panel that can be animated to fade the node in or out. You can use this, for example, even if you apply the Polygon directly to the blue "effect mask" input of something like a MediaIn node without any intervening Merge.

Good tip, Sean. Since the OP put this in their post

The end result would be the object defined by the polygon would fade in.

I didn't think that they were after your solution, but the more info the better in this case. Thanks for chiming in.

In hindsight, the obvious solution.
Thank you Sean.
