Blackmagic Camera 1.2 update

PostWed Nov 08, 2023 3:41 am

Today we announced Blackmagic Camera 1.2 update with a lot of new features.

This update adds support for haptic feedback for control dials. This provides the perfect amount of feedback for making subtle adjustments by giving you more precise positioning of your control dials. In addition, Blackmagic Camera now supports six additional languages including Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.

This update also improves the layout of onscreen controls while display zoom mode is enabled. So, while your display is zoomed in, all your controls will remain onscreen and be correctly displayed. Other improvements to monitoring include the ability to view focus peaking, zebra and false color while recording, allowing you to continue to monitor your focus and image quality.

With support for onboard microphone selection, you are now able to choose from the iPhone’s front, back or bottom mics for improved audio recording. In addition, there is now support for recording clips with a LUT so the footage will have the creative look or technical LUT burnt into the image. You can also now import and export camera setting presets, allowing you to quickly and easily change settings on multiple iPhones or just update the one camera with multiple changes.

This update also adds support for flicker-free shutter presets of 50 and 60 Hz settings. This means that you can now select a shutter preset to match the flicker rate of the lights in your region, resulting in steady, flicker free images, regardless of your lighting setup.

Blackmagic Camera 1.2 update is available now as a free download from the Apple App Store.
