Hello! I recorded videos with my phone in Full HD. I edited everything but after rendering, the "black border" I also see in the timeline remains. I watched some videos on this topic but it did not resolve the problem. I use version 18.6. Any help welcome

full hd is 1920 x 1080 16:9 aspect ratio... usually horizontal but sometimes vertical on phones.
the tv stuff we have to watch is mostly horizontal 16:9, so that's what a lot of people use.
If you start a project with 1080p in resolve ( or any editor) as horizontal and then put the media into the editor it will look like how you shot it in general. depending on your codec and raw or whatever you used to shoot it, then you'll need to adjust the project settings ( color management etc.) to match what you shot. In a perfect world the series is, shoot, open project to ingest shots that match your shoot settings, and export using same basic color management... e.g.rec 709 or whatever.
that's when the editor camera and export is most happy.

I accidentally recorded it vertically (my phone displays 16:9 when I flip it - so I thought it was fine - but it seems it records vertically still). But I wanted it horizontally and naively thought that I could just rotate it in Davinci and everything is good ^^.
I have come to accept that this project failed (but it was a learning experience). I downloaded a camera app where you can lock the orientation so I hope at least that mistake does not happen again.

Well yes, that's the problem. The image quality is so bad after rotating that I can't use it. I just hoped that I could save it somehow (I just realized the issue when I was already finished with everything )
