Exporting Different Resolutions = Same File Size?

PostTue Apr 16, 2024 9:08 am

Hi all,

I am exporting a project to YouTube via the deliver tab. I rendered and uploaded the video in 1080p, then repeated the same in 4K. To my surprise, both files were exactly the same size (1GB)! I looked at the file properties and both files reflect the associated resolutions. The bitrate of the 4K file appears the same. Is davinchi up or downsizing my video? Is there a way I can tell? I'm confused.

Thank you

Rob

I believe I figured out why this is happening. The YouTube export seems to capped at 10000kbps bitrate, rather than following the YouTube video recommendations (link below). So both my 1080p and 4k videos result in the same file size. A workaround is to change this to custom export.
