[support] Resolve 18.6.6 and 19

PostFri Apr 19, 2024 6:51 pm

So I tried to update from 18.6.4 to 18.6.6, even tried to grab the beta for 19. But when I load them up when I get to the project manager that has all my projects, it freezes and stops responding. I've already tried changing the Resolve folder to rename it to add .old to it and that did not work. Is there any other fixes? I'm stuck on 18.6.4 until I can find a fix.

Try to export one of your projects under the old version as a .drp.
Now install the new version and create a fresh Library. Import that project.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Hey friend! Will that be possible if I freeze at the Project Manager and can't even select a project or make one or anything?

Use your backup then.

Maybe there's something in the FAQ that will be helpful.

Update: Nothing worked, but I did try the 19 beta again, and even opened up Visual Studio to see if I can find the issue. It told me fusionsystem.PDB not loaded. What is that?

Why?

Are you a developer? Do you have the required info to properly debug Resolve?

You need to solve your Windows problem before anything else.

What’s the version?

The easiest approach is to roll back your latest backup, and adjust “File Hstory” for the user, to the state just before the problems started. Or the last full backup state before the problem started. This will solve most problems in a stable system.

If that doesn’t work, a reinstall is probably needed.

So I've been using Resolve 18.6.4 because it still works, but as soon as I try and update to 18.6.6 or use the beta for 19, it freezes on startup, both the Beta 1 and 2 did this and 18.6.6 does too.

@Tim
Completely different subject, why not start your own thread (without all caps)?
But first kill all the Red Giant plug-ins, they are crap and crashing DR on Apple silicon.
