BoundlessRoads wrote:Hello, when I downloaded Davinci Resolve I have a lot of other apps in my desktop which I don't think I am using.
such as black magic proxy generator lite
blackmagic raw speed test
blackmagic raw player
davinci control panels set up
fairlight studio utility
do I need all these for davinci resolve to run, or I can delete them?
thanks a lot
No, yes.
What the programs does:
black magic proxy generator lite: Generates proxies (easier to edit derivative versions of your source footage)
blackmagic raw speed test: Benchmark that shows how fast is your computer is, in terms of what blackmagic raw files and framerates you can comfortably edit
blackmagic raw player: Viewer of blackmagic raw files. Think of it as a specialized version of VLC/IINA/(whatever the default media player is) that only shows blackmagic raw files
davinci control panels set up: For controlling panels (
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/dk/pro ... lve/panels ).
fairlight studio utility: For the fairlight add in card that lets you use 1000 audio tracks at once.
So, in short: Unless you use or have a use case for them specifically (that is, have the addon hardware or work with blackmagic raw files), you don't need to install them (and can uninstall them with no problems)
