fonts on macOS Monterey, cannot install on macOS Sonoma

PostTue Apr 30, 2024 2:45 pm

Maybe this is a Mac question. But has anyone had problems installing fonts - which worked fine in macOS 12 Monterey - when trying to install them on macOS 14 Sonoma?

Upon doing a clean instal of Sonoma, many fonts cannot install.

I first noticed the problem because my Fusion compositions are lit up red like a Christmas tree due to the font problem.

Some of those Futura weights share the same name we the default macOS system fonts.
And there are ID collisions for the Extra Black "Futura XBlk BT" and "Futura Extra Black font"
The "Futura-CondensedLight" is not a TT but an OTF font.

You might need to look at your font usage and adjust your usage or mapping accordingly.
There's always a risk when using non compliant or somewhat out of standard fonts as they might cause collision in ID or naming or not be fully complete font sets.
