HDRx on 10.1.3 doesnt work with Red GPU enabled

PostFri Mar 21, 2014 4:11 pm

I have a Hackintosh with a GTX 570, and 12 core setup with 24 gigs of ram.

When I have "Use GPU for Red Debayer" the HDRx controls do nothing, and when I do the 2 source nodes on the color correction, they are the same. If I unchecked the setting, restarting Resolve, the 2nd source is the darker exposure. This is the same in CUDA and OpenCL mode.

In DCI 4K Flat timeline with 1 node that had level adjustments and High soft clip on a non HDR red file, I am getting 20 FPS using CUDA, 12 using openCL with the GPU Red debayer (And having it downscaled to 1080 for display) and having it debay at full res.

Without the GPU for Red, I am getting 15 fps with CUDA, and 14 FPS on openCL

So, in OpenCL on my Graphics card, the GPU Red debayer actually slows down the preformance, and in CUDA I am getting a 25% speed boost.

I just came across this same problem in 10.1.5, full version. I'm using an R9 280x with Open CL. Turning off GPU debayer fixes it.

Please use the 11.0 beta - it should have a fix for the issue.

I prefer not to use beta software for important work right now. Will there be a fix for v10?

I can confirm it works fine in 11.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
