I'm assuming the GUI card is connected to the ATI GPU and nothing in the Nvidia. Make sure the option 'Use GUI GPU for Image processing' in preferences is off.
If this is all ok, next time it crashes, prior to relaunch, use the Capture Logs app
HD/Library/Application support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/CaptureLogs and post the zip here.
