As Dwayne said it works just fine in Windows as long as it's not in 'Full screen' mode as then you lose the bars along the top and bottom. If you make sure it's not ticked then Resolve works the same as any other program allowing you to use the standard Maximize/minimize buttons in Windows, you can even resize the Resolve main window so it doesn't use the whole screen.
As Thomas said over a year ago you can also just use 'Alt+tab' to move between programs, so no need for multiple desktops.
