Simple timeline editing function that seems to be absent from Resolve's editor....
I cannot find a way to drag a clip from one point in the timeline to a different place and drop it in, filling its own gap from the original location and "making room for it" in the new spot by rippling everything else.
I read the relevant section of the manual, and my only options seem to be:
To move clips in the Timeline: Drag any clip in the Timeline to any other position. If you drag a clip to overlap another clip, the clip you’re dragging overwrites the clip you’re dropping it onto.
To move clips in the Timeline up or down to other tracks while keeping them at the same
time: Hold the Shift key down while dragging clips up or down in the Timeline.
Duplicating Clips in the Timeline
Clips can also be duplicated by making a selection, and then Option-dragging the selected clips to
another position and/or track in the Timeline.
On a Mac, my only other options are Ctrl and Cmd, neither of which give me the desired effect. Then there's Slide, but this will not extend up or down the timeline past the two adjacent clips.
I'd love to know if this functionality exists. Even confirming it doesn't is better than not knowing.
