Is there a keyboard shortcut to deselect a value field?

If I select a value field like contrast or pivot, the field will stay active after I have inputted a value and pressed enter. Is there a simple way to deselect the field?

If the field is active, my numpad offset shortcuts will end up there instead of adjusting the offset.

Now I'm shift-tabbing to deactivate the field, but would prefer a more simple way.
