Q. about Resolve 11 multi-GPU utilization

PostThu Jan 08, 2015 6:14 pm

I've read the Resolve 11 Windows config. guide a few times, and many related posts here, but I'm still unclear about one point:

In a Windows PC system that has 2 graphics cards installed, and only 1 of them attached to a computer monitor for the Win/Resolve GUI, can Resolve utilize both cards for its GPU computations --- even if, say, the GUI card only provides 75% of its GPU capability to Resolve, while the other card provides 100%?

Or does using 1 of the cards for the GUI completely prevent it from being used as a Resolve GPU?

Yes, it can.

There is provision in the Preferences... Video I/O and GPU... to "Use Display GPU for Compute."

Ah, thank you for the specific text reference, JPO!

Now I see it on page 110 in the user manual. Perfect. Thanks again!
