Red Rocket with new MacPro

PostSat Jan 10, 2015 11:04 pm

i used to have a red rocket (original) and it worked great in the field in a TB2 sonnet box with macbook pro....ended up getting rid of it because i got a mac pro 8 core which handles the red raw files from my epic just fine....one of the reasons i got rid of it was that i thought i would upgrade to dragon but in the end decided against it....now that i am working with 5k files in davinci and red rocket prices at the bottom i was wondering if it might be a worthwhile idea to spend the money again....
am i correct to assume that the rocket would take care of the raw debayer and leave the GPU and CPU free to handle all davinci tasks?
from my experience debayer via TB2 worked great, my nmp plays files back great but once i add nodes/windows/tracking things slow down.....would the rocket help speed things up?
