How to set up the HP Z27Q with 770GTX

PostTue Jan 13, 2015 10:59 am

Hello everyone

You may look the CES announcement and HP did quite a good one

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/accessor ... 5k-monitor

27" 5K 99% adobeRGB IPS
1300$

INPUT : Dual Display port

Very interesting price.

I'm grading on Windows/Resolve Lite on a 770GTX ( mainly R3D EPIC and DLSR files )

How to get out of my computer a 4K signal to this monitor ?

Buying a PCI card is of course on the list to getting this to work.
Actually i don't have any, I grade ( ofc improperly) with the tiny window in Resolve UI

Thanks for any help :)

Add and UltraStudio card to your machine then connect the display via HDMI. You'll then need another display for your GUI.

Since none of them offer display port out ?

HDMI is not supported by the HP Z27Q ...

Sorry thought you were referring to the 4K Z27X.

Don't think there is a way to monitor 5K out of Resolve. All of BMs latest hardware is UHD.

Not really interested in 5K, after all but Z27X is 2560x1440, even if it take 4K input

i would like to input 4K and the monitor would upscale to 5K, isn't that possible ?

Or if you know any 4K 27" display wich is really acurate in color ( 99% AdobeRGB ?) in this price range ?

I don't think 4K will get you anything in terms of monitoring on a display this small, and I'm also not convinced this screen can be calibrated. Resolution alone is one of the easiest things to accomplish in monitors; grading monitors need grading accuracy, side-to-side consistency, good black detail, and the ability to calibrate to a known standard like Rec709. Resolution means nothing if everything else goes to hell.

Yeah ok, may not be the better choice.
But, what do i do if a want to connect a Dual diplay port monitor as a grading monitor

(the fact is this display is Adobe RGB 100% and DCI P3 99% at 1500$)
