Resolve 11.1.3 crashes when saving project

This happens when saving a project where the 100% of the clips are ProRes 422 HQ filmed with a BMCC and BMPC. The files are mixed 1080p and UHD4K.

I'm working on 2 different project, that suddenly quits even autosaving or saving manually, doesn't matter if I creating a new timeline or working in the color tab.

The last thing I tried was to import and XML from FCPX, letting Resolve populate the assets automatically... same result... quit after save.

I don't loose the last changes, apparently the saving process succeeds but then quits...

Any ideas?

Can you run CaptureLogs after you do a Save and Resolve quits, and post that? It looks like the logs you posted were captured after a normal Resolve exit.

This crashing things keeps happening... this time with FS700 RAW footage... totally different project... once I try to save, Resolve crashes and then I can't open that project anymore...

It looks like you did a successful save at 1:16. And then at 1:21 another save was started and that's when it crashed.

It looks like after the 1:16 save, you loaded this LUT: VisionColor - OSIRIS/KDX - LOG.cube
I'm not sure what else you may have done after the 1:16 save, but whatever it was might be a clue to what's going on.

So are Resolve saves not working randomly? Or not working with specific projects? Or what?

Yess endeed... but now its random, not only when saving. As you could see in the last log files, the first saving process succeeded but the next caused the sudden quit. followed but never again been able to open that project...

Another of my tests, was creating a new project last night... first manual save, OK... Autosave for backup... Resolve Quitted... before even trying to apply such 3D LUT.. after that I did apply the LUT and others but Resolve didn't quit... saved, closed, open again.. and worked fine.

I'll send my files to support as you suggested...

Hey I'm having exactly the same problem with Resolve 11 lite - crashing on half of the saves. (v11.3.0lite.004)
OS x 10.10.3

Symptoms are exactly as described above. I've had to turn off autosave and it's making me very nervous.


Often I would suspect the video card, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2047 MB. It was crashing with the Auto setting and with CUDA (I have the latest Nvidia CUDA drivers - 346.01.02f04). Am trying now with Open GL. No crashes so far.

Will let you know if this fixes it...

It seems that switching to Open GL as the video card driver (rather than CUDA) has fixed the issue for me. Doesn't seem to be a hit in performance either. Hope it helps others.
