Resolve and Resolve Lite on the same machine?

PostSun Dec 23, 2012 10:14 pm

Is there a way to have the full version of resolve on the same system as resolve lite? I would like to not have to use mo dongle when I am out and about, but it seems that one installs over the top of the other.

What I would love to have happen is that when resolve sees that you don't have the dongle, it just tells you, then disables the parts that are full version only.

That would be really useful when on set and you want to test footage. No need for all the features then so no need to risk the dongle going missing.

You cannot have both the Lite and Full versions of Resolve installed on the same system drive at once. It's one or the other. It is no problem installing either on top of the other. So you will need to install the version you want to use, when you want to use it.

I love mbeck's idea of having it simply disable the "pro" features when the dongle is not present. Just one installation.

This is an old post but I agree, 1 install for both. Has BMD considered this option yet. I found myself in a situation where I didn't have my dongle yesterday. Sure would have helped.

It's not possible to have reliable operation with both apps installed. If you keep the installers for both just install as you need.
