SOLVED- nvlddmkm.sys gtx 980 BSOD render crash

PostSun Jul 26, 2015 6:07 pm

Blue screen of death during renders?
I have 2 GTX 980 cards and have been having issues. Running driver version 353.30.

If you have this issue, I solved it this way:

- Ran this registry tweak -

- Rolled back to the ORIGINAL Geforce driver version 344.75 with a "clean install" this option is in the install process, check it off.

Secondary (may not be necessary)
- Installed Afterburner - to manually raise my fan level to keep the 2 cards cooler (they are stacked right on top of eachother - my hpz820 doesn't have enough space inside it) - this software allows you to change the settings of each card independently or separately. The ASUS gpu tweak II software does not allow you to control each card - only one.

- Closed any other running application - ie. Firefox.

This seemed to solve my problems.

Hope that helps someone else.

All the best,
