Sony a6000 - audio track not importing

Im using a Sony a6000 with the XAVC-s codec. When I import footage to Resolve, only the video track shows up, the audio is missing. How can I fix this?

I was hoping that DaVinci Resolve 12 would add support for LPCM audio but that doesn't seem to be the case.
You will need to convert your XAVC-S files to ProRes or something similar in order for Resolve to recognize it. I do this with Final Cut Pro X but other editing software can do it as well as dedicated file converter programs.

Try re-wrapping as a mov first, rather than a full transcode. If it's the same issue A7S files have, then it's simply QT can't understand how to pull out the audio from the mp4, but it can play the track natively.

Try Cliptoolz or Editready. Re-wrapping is far quicker than re-encoding and saves a generation loss.

Oh wow! When I opened v12 and loaded a project that I had created in v11 there was still no sound but when I created a new project the sound played fine. Good job and thanks!

Just to be clear... I have to buy another piece of software to import video with audio into Davinci from my Sony A6000?

Is there any solution for importing the sound + video (together) from A6000 (in Davinci Resove 14)??
