New feature suggestion to access non starting projects

PostFri Jul 31, 2015 1:00 pm

As now with VST and OFX support it more then once can happen that a project can not be opened anymore due to issues with any of these (as can happen in any software that loads external plugins) , isn't there a possibility to have an option to load a project in sort of recovery mode ? With every node that uses any external non resolve native plugin de-activated.
This way you can still salvage your work and track down the problem, rather then loosing the entire project.
Some (OSX) apps also have this feature to start the app itself in a safe mode with bells and whistles deactivated.
Similarly this could be adopted for a GPU less and cacheless startup mode .

Must be something not that extremely hard to implement but can be very useful for
1. salvaging work
2 troubleshooting what component caused the issue

Like the save mode startup option on windows ?
To me, that sound like a good idea!

With the options

    en/disable OFX
    en/disable VST
    en/disable cache
    en/disable proxy
    choose GPU

Regards,

Yes exactly something like that.
A few well chosen parameters (or checkboxes in the project selection gui)
