Will DavinciResol 12 make the "Log and Capture"
Posted: Fri Aug 07, 2015 9:02 pmHello, for years the most important part of our work is based on the LOG AND CAPTURE command FCP 7, this command no longer exists in the FCPX and unfortunately are becoming obsolete against the competition, currently recorded live in studio with FCP 7 by using this command because it allows us to immediately launch timeline and edit at the moment, video clips to are upload to a FTP so the client can see them almost instantly.
We use a Sony camera with HDMI output connected to a BM Mini Recorder with HDMI input and output Thunderbolt.
We have heard that the new version of DavinciResolve 12 can do this function, even we have not tested since the Beta 1 did not let us select the video input source.
Someone can guide on whether this function will be like in FCP 7?
We use the command in NOT CONTROLABLE DEVICE to capture the direct signs of camera, this will be possible in the final version of DavinciResolve 12?
The configuration we use is currently a MacMini with OS 10.7.5, and Sorenson Squeeze 10 but compressions are very slow since we only have two cores and we would like to switch to a more modern system and give us more speed in the compression process.
On the other hand we wanted to know if BM has something to do hardware encoding to make Sorenson Squeeze out faster.
