Resolve 12 dosn't recognize my photo DNG files

PostWed Aug 12, 2015 3:36 pm

First of all, I'm running DaVinci Resolve 12.0 Beta 2 on Yosemite 10.10.4.

The Issue is I can't get Resolve to Recognize my DNG files (photo DNG, NOT Cinema DNG).

Tomasz Huczek at timeinpixels.com indicates that Resolve 12 can read DNG files created by Adobe DNG Converter.

I converted NEF RAW files from my Nikon D7000 with Adobe DNG Converter, but Resolve doesn't recognize my DNG files, the folder just appears empty. I did downscale the pictures from 16MP to 8MP during the DNG conversion, but I don't see how that would cause any problems.

When I convert the NEF files to TIF, Resolve recognizes the TIF files, but I don't have access to the Camera RAW settings.

I restarted both Resolve and my computer, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea how to make this work?

Any DNG Converter downscaled DNG files aren't really raw Bayer data. They are 8-bit RGB debayered and toned.
Don't downscale if you want proper raw DNG.

Hi Mihail,
Are you saying that Resolve won't read my DNG files because they've been downscaled?

I ask because, my issue is that Resolve won't read my DNG files, not that I don't have enough quality from the DNG files.

Not because they are downscaled. But becaused they are debayered.
I doubt anything non-Adobe will read them.
