Sudden Brightness shifts in Resolve 9.0.4 lite

PostWed Jan 09, 2013 6:10 am

Hi I've been having a frustrating time dealing with this bug. Essentially RESOLVE occasionally starts rendering frames with blacks way up around 20% (looks like a brightness shift, image gets all fogged up).

When color correcting this happens on playback constantly and I've been disabling/enabling nodes to get it to render properly.

However this is also happening on output so it is a serious issue now.

I have a Mac 3,1 with an ATI5770 for GUI, a dedicated Quadro 4000 as GPU, a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 2, 16GB of RAM, I'm on 10.8.2...

Any tips?

Thanks

It sounds like you might have an issue with your Quadro 4000 card. Try reseating the card, and it's power connectors on both ends. Make sure it's not overheating.

As a further test, you could remove the Quadro 4000 and just use the HD5770 card, and see if the problem goes away. Your performance will be worse (but maybe not much worse on a 3,1 MacPro) and this will help determine if the Q4000 card is the issue.
