Premiere XML

PostFri Sep 18, 2015 6:27 pm

Ive been working on an inherited Premiere CC 2014 project using R3D proxies (h.264@HD).
Using the Import XML option in Resolve > Edit, checking on Ignore extension noticed a few clips were not connecting to the original R3D files.
Now this is 2 of 500 plus clips so I am not sure if the clips are corrupt... however when they are imported via Media Pool they are fine.
So question is how do I force to use the Media Pool clips as oppose to letting the XML to connect them.

I had the same problem with an XML import -- some of the clips wouldn't import. I ended up bringing them into the media pool and fixing the time-lines manually.

As in edit into Timeline manually?

I would love to do that but have no idea what the frame start was originally.

This bug is annoying.

One the other threads mentioned a feature called "Force link" -- you select the clip in the media pool or bin, then right-click the time-line clicp and select this "force link" feature. At least, I think's that's the procedure, check the manual.

It might work for you, if it preserves TC relationships.

My issues have spread a little further into RED files saved in RCX not updating in Resolve.
Some of my RED clips are set-up in RCX and saved (RMD).
Is it possible the data cache is corrupt on Resolve?
Its odd that this is now persistent after it was working fine for a few weeks.
