Edit Page - Only one "Video screen"

PostTue Oct 27, 2015 1:58 am

Sorry for the maybe stupid question,

How do i deactivate the two movie screens on the edit page and only see the right one nice and big?
i found i can activate the left one to "offline" so it will stay empty but i couldn't find a way to make the right screen big...

just in case, i have the mac connected to one 4K display if thats important somehow?

Thanks for your quick help!
...Max

I do not believe you can dedicate that space entirely to your timeline view (the one on the right you are referring to) unless you have dual monitors and have set up your edit view to have the timeline view and information on one monitor, and the source view on the other.

It seems to be addressed in the manual in Chapter 13 and on page 275. To be honest, for most users (?) there seems to be a good deal more utility for in having both views displayed, particularly with more than one source clip active. Just the way it is, but you can zoom in to details of course.

If you do find a workaround, please share it here.

You could try turning the Inspector on and I think that turns off the source monitor... might get your record monitor a bit bigger?

Jamie is correct. If you turn on the inspector after clicking the preview on the right (timeline view), then only that preview will be displayed with the actual video and audio timeLINEs below that. Then, place your cursor just below the horizontal "position timeline" and left-click and hold while pulling down to expand the screen area.

There you go.

well does not work with me... guess its because the 4k display gives to much space,

not even opening the media gigantly helps...

so i was playing around also with connecting a second monitor.... nothing allows me to habe only one screen over my timeline....

i don't know if its a bug or a a missing feature but you should be able to change the proportions of the left and right screen the same way you can move the timeline bigger and smalller? right?

I just tried to replicate what you show above, and cannot do it. At first, I thought one of your panel names was selected on the upper left, but no, that was not the cause of the shared screen you have.

I am very puzzled and will follow this thread to see the solution. Perhaps you are correct about the 4K.

Unless I've misunderstood your question, I can do this by going to the Workspace menu and clicking Single Viewer Mode.
