About the "Pro" in Win10 Professional

PostThu Dec 03, 2015 9:14 pm

To anyone in BMD who Knows:

I'm running a Skylake notebook with a GTX 970M, and eager to find how far I can get with R12. I've read that Pro versions of the Windows OS's are recommended, but this notebook shipped with the Home version (a detail craftily hidden in the early spex).

It's now been so exasperating trying to find how how to upgrade from OEM Home to Pro or even whether there is currently a path for this, that I've started to wonder how necessary this upgrade is after all, if I don't care about more integration with my domain, enhanced encryption a la MS, remote log-in, creating virtual machines or "partnering" with MS itself, jeez.

Will R12 run slower with Home? Are any of its features disabled there?

Thanks!
