Hardware config for stop motion: still frames bigger than 4K

Hi,

We will shoot a short movie in stop motion with a DSLR. So we will have still frame sequences (Canon RAW or DNG), and the frame size will be bigger than 4K (probably 4368 x 2912), to allow cropping or moving frames in a 4K timeline.

Editing will be done in FCPX. We already try this part of the workflow and there is no problem (we can edit in realtime in proxy mode) on a MacBook Pro.

But for color gradding, we will use Resolve, and we don't know wich hardware we must have. We already know that it's not possible on the MacBook Pro (not enough GPU RAM, etc)

So the hardware should be :
- Fast GPU with 6GB of VRAM or More ?
- Xeon(s) with 8 cores or more ?
- fast SSDs ?

1) xenon, dual, titan x / 12gb
2) 8 1tb ssd raid 0 ( no redundancies) hardware card raid, not motherboards. that should give you the speed.

3) di not try to work with all single frames: machine will choke on one frames cuts no matter what.

grab the shots (multiple frames) in nuke/fusion, Smoot out the flicker, and export them and single 10 bit dpx at your resolution.
