Problem with relinking clips

I try to relink some clips on my timeline to files with other names, than original footage. "Relink Selected Clips" tool relinks to files with the same names. Is there a way to link clips on a timeline to any file that I pick?

You can "force conform" any given timeline clip to any given media pool clip, one at a time. However, you can't link a media pool clip to a clip with a different name (and get all instances of that clip updated automatically in your timelines).
