incorrect keyframes copied between shots.

PostMon Jan 11, 2016 7:49 pm

I have two timelines, one is the whole reel5, source timecode 05.00.00.00, and a text less timeline, with time code coherent with the real itself (the frames match source action and source timecode)

I used a edl to cut the reel and the textlees one. all the cut match.

the shot at 05.02.42.10 match in the two timelines, the length is the same, the embedded timecode is the same.

the texted show has sizing keyframes.

right click -> [add correcting with keyframes]

no keyframes are copied.

why? because in the keyframes editor you can clearly see that there is an absolute count from the beginning of the shot, totally unrelated to source timecode or timeline timecode, because the shots start at different points the keyframes will never work.

1) please add the ability to use source timecode when copy keyframes
2) please introduce a [copy keyframes relative] that simply count from the first visible game in the cut and copy in the shot from the first frame of the cut (line any other system. ...) si we can copy even if the timecode is meaningless, think about having a compound clip that is replaced by a series of vfx. .. timecode is useless.

even using a take selector does not work (keyframes simply disappeared)

nor override the shot with the good one or a sub clip..

do I really have to copy one by one? seriously?

That is definitely a limitation. It would be nice if we could copy-and-paste keyframe and node information as if it were a file -- literally selecting all, copying, then go into a similar scene and pasting. I would buy some limitations on timecode accuracy if the timecodes did not precisely match, but if the shot length were identical, it could be made to work.

What about ColorTrace? I know for sure that will copy over keyframing info (both tracking and regular).

I need to try color trace, but you cannot color trace with itself, i will have to make a copy of the timeline.

now, if color trace works, then I want an option where I can right click and [color trace] from another shot in the timeline

+1 It's annoying that you need workarounds for things like that. They should just work. How hard can it be...

surprisingly color trace works, but you cannot color trace with yourself (you are forced to duplicate the timeline).

so, if you know how to make it work, please do in the color page while we are doing, you know, color. ..
