is it only me, but when I try dragging the Cross Fade transition between two clips on the timeline (from the effects library), it won't happen. All the other transitions work fine. thanks!

I tried with a 9 sec and 6 sec clip next to each other, but it wouldn't work. I tried Cross Dissolve and that one worked with no issues.
The funny thing is that when I drag the Cross Fade between the two clips there's no white border rectangle thing on hovering your mouse like you have on other transitions.
Thanks Gabi

Is it possible to extend the clips at the point of the cut you are trying to add the cross fade too?
With your two clips, at the cut - drag the ends away from each other, making them both shorter, then drag them back next to each other and see if the fade works.
Thanks Peter! Yes that would be it. I guess I am left with the transition names from Premiere and beyond where fade means dip to black. I do wish there would be a distinct icon for audio and video effects/transitions.
Either way, thanks a lot for the answer!
