Cant export titles only

PostThu Jan 28, 2016 7:15 am

I have a job where part of the sequence is not yet complete, there is a storyboard laid in the sequence using titles only- just for timing- there is audio there.

When I go to export this part of the sequence the add to render queue is greyed out until I add actual video to the sequence. I did and was able to export the sequence (with 1 second of video with opacity set to zero).

It would be great not to have this limitation.

Nice workaround. I'll have to remember that one.

Drop the titles on top of a Solid Color generator background (set to black), but highlight the Solid Color and make it a compound clip so that now it's a piece of video and not just a generator. Then duplicate the compound clip across the entire timeline wherever a Title is placed, and it will render.

I'm not sure of the rationale as to why Resolve can't render a timeline made up entirely of generator clips (like titles and bars and solid color backgrounds), but that's the way that it is. One compound clip at the beginning will allow this to work.
