Resolve 12 Crash with Timeline Nodes - Windows 10?

PostTue Feb 16, 2016 12:40 pm

I just updated my computer to Windows 10,

In both Resolve 12.2 and 12.3.1 when I create a timeline corrector and connect the nodes Resolve instantly cashes/stops responding.

I could do this on Windows 8.1 using Resolve 12.2

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,
Steve

I updated to windows 10 yesterday...so I assume it's therefore relatively upto date.
I'm using the free version of Resolve.

Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Six Core Processor i7-4930K (3.4GHz) 12MB Cache
Motherboard ASUS® P9X79 LE: INTEL® SOCKET LG2011
Memory (RAM) 32GB KINGSTON HYPERX BEAST QUAD-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P (4 x 8GB KIT)
Graphics Card 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 660
120GB INTEL® 530 SERIES SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 550MB/sR | 520MB/sW)

I've also added a WD Black 2tb HardDrive (which has the footage in question on it.)

On Windows 8.1, I have used the Timeline node feature on Pocket Prores 422hq and not had a problem.

However the footage that I'm editing is Canon ixus 720p MPEG4 with NeatVideo Applied to most clips and Filmconvert.

I'll have to test tomorrow to see if it Crashes on Prores footage.

Thanks.

yet to remove neat video for testing, I saw at one point a gpu excessive usage of memory.

then try to cache to prores the mp4 (input cache) so you will unload the cpu during the ofx plugin phase

Ok, done some testing. Although I havn't tried caching yet.

I have used the timeline corrector on 1080p Prores 422hq projects and 1080p h.264 projects and some with a mix of codecs and OFX plugins and the timeline corrector seems to work.

The project in question however just crashes everytime I link up the corrector node to the imputs and output. I have removed all instances of Neat Video as well and the same thing happens.

What I have noticed is that on the project in question is that there are two imput/source boxes on the left side of the Timeline Node space. All the other projects just have one.

I'm not familar with Resolve enough to know what that means. I have skimmed through the manual but not found anything on why there would be two imput boxes on the Timeline Node space.

Thanks

right click on the Empty space of the node tool, there is an ad additional input somewhere, you can undo that and remove the extra one

In Clip Mode there is an add/remove source option in the right click menu, I don't have this option on the Timline Mode.

This project was probably started in Resolve 11 about a year ago.....could there be some incompatibility with Resolve 12 in the file?

Thanks for your help so far.

Steve
