Resolve 12.5 freezing my Mac

PostMon Apr 18, 2016 6:54 pm

Great new features. I really want to use this beta. Unfortunately when I hit render, the software tells me it's starting the process and nothing happens. The render is done though without any visible progression and the software is totally frozen. Strangely, I can quit it normally then.

Here it is:
iMac i7 (end 2013)
i7 3.5Ghz
32Go ram
Nvidia GTX775M 2Go
OS 10.11.4

I never had any trouble with DR12 as long as I was using openCL. GPU was crashing the mac quickly.
I tried both GPU and openCL, no change. I stay on openCL though. I tried several times again. Sometimes if there is just one clip in the timeline it works normally. As soon as there is several or I color correct a bit, it's doing the issue.

I noticed something else too with the fullframe playback. If I edit only (timeline at 2k, Red footage 5k) the playback in fullscreen works like a charm. As soon as I enter the color tab and go to fullscreen playback it's super pixelated, even when I go back in the edit tab, and even without touching any color slider or function. The only way is to set the timeline 1440p which is also the size of my screen and then everything is smooth and nice. I thought it was maybe some settings but as it's working normally before hitting the color tab button and not anymore after, i have some doubt.

Are you trying to render the final reds at premium Debayer? Your GPU might die because of that.

I tried different debayer settings. But I had absolutely zero problem rendering premium debayer full res with the previous version.
And even in the 12.5 beta, it renders full debayer. The thing is that the render progression bar is frozen at the beginning and not progressing at all. Then I have to quit the software which is totally frozen, I can't access anything. But the file is rendered wherever I saved it.

hi bm!

thanks thanks thanks for the upate! i do especially welcome the alpha-rendering :).
still try to figure out the rest.

but my davinci also hangs from time to time when i hit the render button. if i force quit and then restart the application it does work again.

and, some of my projects don't open anymore... they hang at 99% :(

hopefully all of this will be taken care of in future updates.

i am on 10.10.2 i have to admit, double titan gfx.
