AAF Avid roundtrip problem

PostWed Apr 27, 2016 5:29 am

Hello,

We are producing a documentary series for television. 1080p 25fps. The offline editing was done in Avid MC8.4.2 in DNxHD36.
We conformed in Avid linking back to original raw files. Exported an AAF linking to the raw media and brought that into Davinci Resolve 12.3.2.008. That process went smoothly. The colourist has finished the grade and we need to round trip it back to Avid.
Using the delivery page and using a modified AAF Avid roundtrip setting we created DNxHD 220 media with 50 frame handles, creating new unique file names, and an AAF to import into Avid.

The delivery process in Resolve goes smoothly and all new DNxHD 220 media is created with the imbedded colour grade.

The major problem that we are facing is that the AAF is only bringing in 28 minutes of the timeline. The timeline in resolve is 58 minutes in duration.
We have attempted this delivery export multiple times, clearing in and out, selecting all clips, and each time the AAF only produces a 28 minute timeline even though all of the media has been exported correctly. Opening the AAF has been tested across multiple machines and software versions with the same result.
