Grading GoPro Hero 4

PostWed May 04, 2016 6:55 am

Hi,
with the new Resolve Studio 12.5 beta we have Lens correction
How do you fix the Fisheye (what is the magic number?)
Convert Files to GoPro CineForm format or other format
Grading a protune FLAT with LUT ?
working with 4K or 2.7K or 1080

GoPro Studio(32 bit) on windows and not support a multi-core system Intel Xeon on workstation
limit the number of cores being used to 4(disable hyper threading from bios )...

What is the best approach for grading & Transcoding GoPro Hero 4 Footage?

Regards,
Simon

convert to dnxhq, you should not have any penalty in terms of quality.

there is no magic number for the fish eyes, and the distortion could be not quite linear. see what the automatic button does aND do it by eye.

for the resolution, which is your final delivery? i will stick to HD if it is hd, uhd for uhd and so on.

i don't thing you need a lut, GoPro should be ready to grade. if you want to build a "curve" make a timeline node and use either a curve or a bit of contrast"scurve"
