OpenFx / Plug-Ins

PostWed Jun 01, 2016 11:44 pm

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

What are some manufacturers of OpenFx or plugins for Resolve? I'm not looking for LUT's, rather (triple) split screen and other things similar to what I have available in FCP X, Avid and Premiere.

Thanks in advance to all who answer. I'm jumping ship from SpeedGrade and FCPX/Avid/Premiere and want to go full on with Resolve Studio 12.

Also, how can I upgrade from Studio 12 to 12.5?. I just purchased a camera and it came with 12.

Nick, to get 12.5 just download it from BMD support site. It's current in its third round of beta.

Hey Marc,

Funny that specifically yesterday, I was reading what Neat wrote about their NR OFx plug-in for Resolve. Funny again that they warn about Resolve's demands of GPU and RAM. Of course, the "known issues" chapter also lists FCP, Scratch or Premiere issues, but Resolve is the first :D .
Anyway, Neat probably remains the best NR
(and imho, D.A. Beauty Box - I also have - has the best rate easiness/efficiency)

Mocha 5 is now integrated in a great number of NLEs, which means you don't have to export tracking data or shapes anymore.
As you seem french like me, I paste a french link for you to know...

I'm a great supporter of Mocha Pro I use frequently, but as you will probably notice too, some features are regularly available in standalone version only, then I prefer sticking to the standalone piece of software.

Hi sam,
(Merci pour l'info!)

For MOCHA 5 pro plugin: (from MOCHA web site) * OFX Support coming soon.
I will explore this new app and I would see if the investment is ok

For the export of tracking datas, etc ... I have not tested.

Hi Sam,

After checking: it is V5 (not pro)
and the proposed export (besides rendering)

This is enough for now.

Hi,
Not tested thoroughly there DR internally or I discover BCC Title Studio (Davinci Resolve 12.5 Full ?). I advise to test whether it is suitable for ... may be test with trial version ?

the usual watermark is applied until you validate a paid license.

Something to beware of with most OFX plugins, is that there are issues with the processes that need to look for many adjacent frames. This is poorly implemented with most of their interfaces to the Resolve platform, like de-flicker, object removal, and so on.

This is also true with video Neat looking 5 frames before + the current frame + 5 frames after. Since version 12.5 STUDIO, one sees all the frames. (Still just a display issue but will definitely be treated as final release

It seems that the deep frames access is reserved exclusively for STUDIO release.
