How do you make the video playback without stuttering?

Sometimes Resolve plays video without any issues. (It does crash about every 4th time I turn it on.) But, has anyone been able to get Resolve to playback without stuttering issues.

I have tried every codec I can think of. I have turned off all the background programs. I have optimized, cached smart, proxy mode 1/2 & 1/4. Sometimes it stutters sometimes it doesn't. I have gone through the tutorials about how to get smooth playback. I have also read the configuration guide about setting up for Windows more than twice.

I have tried SDD and/or HD for content and cache. I tried as many combinations as I could think of.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In Project Settings: Video Monitoring, did you try setting the Video Bit Depth down to 8 bit?
(that seems to help my similar quad-i7 system a lot...)
