DR 12.5.1 ProRes Quicktime Codec

PostThu Sep 08, 2016 3:24 pm

Hi
Im new to DR, new to windows 10 and with HP Z840.
just installed DR 12.5.1, and am checking out the output codecs,
I do not see Quicktime Prores codec selections. i checked in Custom, and Final Cut
tabs as I saw a demo stating the Windows has the Quicktime Prores codecs now.
Am I doing something wrong.

Thank you,
Stan

From what I've read, they've added a more "native" ProRes decode (without the use of Quicktime 7), which may be what is confusing you. An official ProRes encoder on Windows will likely never happen. There are a few third-party alternatives, but these will not integrate into Resolve.

It will read prores. It will not output prores.
