Manually time stretching?

PostMon Oct 17, 2016 10:48 pm

Hi, i know we could select the clip from the media pool, in and outs (4 Point edit) But i was wondering if there was a way of grabing the clip and stretching it to fit. So far it has only added extra footage from previously where i have cut it. Also the recurve speed part doesnt appear to allow this?

If you open the basic retime control (cmd+r on mac), you can manually stretch the clip out from the end. The cursor should turn to double arrows. I'll try to post a screen shot when I'm at my system.

See attached image for reference. You can manually stretch the clip to fill the duration required.

Yeah thats it. On the windows the arrow was next to the speed change bar above the clip, i was trying to use the arrows on the actual clip!! Thanks a bunch.

You know what i didnt realise it was a two part bit, i watched the first one and thought i would have to guess the percentage or too work out from the time line the gap size then speed up the clip to make the length the correct size as the gap,,, i thought there must have be a easier way!! Thanks you guys rock

Edit,,, yes she has really good videos!

So many online videos spend so much time rambling on in the beginning and discussing irrelevant crap. But Daria Fissoun just gets right to it (so to speak) and is clear and concise in what she's telling you.
