Tips for speeding up Resolve encoding

PostSat Feb 23, 2013 9:42 am

Hi

We shoot full HD and after taking Resolve (brilliant!) into use for colourcorrection, I've been looking into how to speed up the encoding process.

We use a 2x2.4ghz MacPro, osx 10.8.2, 28 gb 1066 ddr 3 ram and a Quadro 4000 graphics card.

Resolve clocks around 39-41 fps when rendering, but surely, we must be able to boost this, right?

But..... how ?

Render to SSD instead of HD? More ram ? Additional graphics card ?

Resolve is all about GPU. If you wanna speed up renders, go for a better/faster GPU like a GTX570.
A fast drive-array never hurts either.
Good luck!

Can we just add the 570 to the MacPro or will we then have to remove the Quadro ?

You might wanna read the Resolve Config Guide.
