Anyone tried Resolve on 21:9 screens?

Hi,

I'm planning a workstation upgrade at some point in the near future and I was wondering if I should go 21:9, maybe dual 21:9.
Does anybody here have tried Resolve on one ore more 21:9 screens? How's the UX? Is there maybe some screenshots?

Yes, I use Resolve as follows:
- main Resovle window: 21:9 [actually 3440x1440]
- scopes on a separate 16:9 monitor [1920x1080]
- video output on Decklink 4K Extreme 12G to a UHD monitor [3840x2160]

Seems to work very well

Very similar configuration here:

- DR UI on a 29", 2560x1080 monitor
- 49" calibrated Samsung KS8000 preview via Decklink 12G

works fine

21:9 main UI monitor, 16:9 for second UI screen, plus Dreamcolor via Decklink - works like a charm, love the extra screen estate on the 21:9.

I've done it twice on two different feature projects (at client facilities), and I got whiplash from having to turn too far to the right to see the keyframe window. I'm a bigger fan of using a 27" 2550x1440 display for the entire GUI, then a second smaller 16x9 monitor for external scopes, and then an external calibrated monitor for the hero display. I have also tried the dual-screen GUI setup, and it takes a lot of getting used to.

I agree. I don't like feeling like I'm watching a tennis match while doing color. I could see it being great for editing, though.

My main monitor is 34" 21:9 and second is a 25" 21:9, both LG

I like the lower height as compared with other monitors of similar

Width as it's easier to see over them at a TV monitor on the wall.

I'm using this for editing and grading.

Marc makes a good point, to which I'd add

That if I were only using resolve for grading

And especially now that I have the advanced panel

I might not go for such large monitors.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I do use Resolve primarily as an editor and while I do some color correction and maybe small grading on my projects, it's not the focus. So it appears, 21:9 could serve me well.
Thanks again!
