I dont mean to be rude, I just dont understand the grumping about a beta version not working right straight away.
Here 14 doesn't work, period. That's a rather serious problem. At least some people found a way to get 14 running. They're discussing how they did it. If that somehow bothers you, ignore the posts. No one forced you to read them.
I'm reading a lot of the posts, trying to find ways to get it to work. It didn't for me early on but have found enough to get it working really well on my win10 machine. I actually enjoy the problem solving.
Never did I complain about the posts - was merely pointing out that I don't understand why some are complaining, having a rant, getting pi##ed of with BMD because there are problems.
There are so many different computer configs these days that to me getting as many on board to problem solve is a good thing. Adobe don't do it, and to my way of thinking it leads to updates being pushed out that often don't suit those who use the software on a daily basis.
It also means that 1.5 years on of Lightroom having severe performance issues, adobe have yet to address it as they don't see a problem on their machines. If they listened, and worked with the hundred and hundreds of users having issues they may well get it working well again. Instead, their main competitor is reaping the benefits.
Things change, what we work on changes, and the way companies respond needs to change. I applaud BMD getting users on board at an early stage.
Dear Jeff, unfortunately Adobe don't ear also their beta tester, i was ones of them... i sent crash report from computer, i sent bugs and solution (like ex developer often it's easy to analize a crash report, and often are for their blindness of different Os structure from Usa to Europe), but nothing...
think that under cs series they build different numbered library folder for different languages, but not sent to external developers this info, then most of plugin works on usa version and on other language crash or cannot be installed...
under After there is a bug that i sent at every single main build in the last 20 years, they are blind be cause too big, but worst thing, are not stable structure.... If you grab developers list of adobe software of last 10 years you can see everytimes different developers, this mean they don't allow developers to do their work fine.
BMD show us how rebuild from ashes software like Digital Fusion, i was users from df4, and leave it be cause developers lacks in many areas, BMD in since one year change all their target, and DF is reborn.
I like a lot BMD, i'm a fan of their work on cameras, on software, and mine is not a simple crumble, was a small suggestion to do better, i saw that i thought is a not good way of develop and i suggested a better way. I know need a bit more work, but with a public beta is necessary to keep good reputation that they have.
ps i love lightroom from first incarnation, but actually it's a pregnant elephant, try capture one, it's a nice alternative.
