Full Screen Preview!

PostSat Apr 29, 2017 1:19 am

In the Edit Tap, is it possible to playback the timeline with full preview screen, without any additional hardware? Or at least to change the size of the preview screen?

Vegas Pro have this feature for many many years, and I really do miss it!

Be aware you need to buy a BMD Mini Monitor and an external display for best results. Don't try to color-correct within the GUI display.

There's nothing wrong with the GUI display - you can screencap it yourself to test and it'll difference out perfectly against lossless source or output footage. I agree that you should always work with the best monitoring system available but there's nothing inherently inaccurate about the Resolve preview.

If you're going to use the GUI as a grading monitor, make sure to calibrate it first with a hardware probe. The calibration software will write out a display compensation LUT, and Resolve will allow you to apply the display LUT to your GUI monitor.

Hi I am running a new purchased Resolve Studio 14 on a Mac Pro and have a borrowed BMD Ultra Studio Mini Monitor. How do I get that one working? Tried with two different Thunderbolt cables and HDMI cables. Restarted several times.

It doesn't show up in the i/o preferences, nor inside the mac preferences -> BMD Desktop Video Setup.

Could it be faulty or am i missing something essential?

EDIT... I also tried to approve at the security warning under High Sierra and also used a second MBP with older OS, still doesn|t get recognized

Is there any light emitting from the mini monitor? It's hard to tell that there is a power light on that little thing, but there is.

DR and Desktop Video both updated?

If Desktop Video can't see it, it's effectively not there. I would make sure you're running the latest Desktop Video, and if it still can't see it, contact BMD Customer Support and have them help you troubleshoot it.

Blackmagic Media Express will tell you very quickly if the Mini Monitor works or not. There can be dozens of causes for this connection to fail, depending on the cable, the ports, the operating system, and a lot of other factors... up to and including the box being bad.
