Audio cuts out after a few seconds

PostMon May 22, 2017 10:28 pm

I'm trying to put together some Overwatch clips of mine into a video (I'm a 100% newb at non-linear video software). I have checked Video I/O and GPU to make sure it's putting out audio, but only a 2 of my 6 clips are showing audio waves. I can listen to the clips using Daum and there's audio and when I just double click on a clip so it pops up on the left window the audio is there for a couple of seconds then disappears.

I'm currently running it on my Gigabyte P37 laptop with an i7-5700HQ, Windows 10, and a GTX970M. I have a desktop at home I use also, but just trying to tinker with this while I'm away from home. I've added a picture of what I'm looking at.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Looks like I resolved my issue before the thread even posted.

I went into Avidemux and changed my Audio output to AAC (FDK) and Video output to MP4 and it fixed the issue completely. Admins, please delete or lock.

Most of the software for recording games is using variable fps.
Resolve doesn't like that at all, similar to many other NLEs.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

I'll remember that for recording and try to get the FPS a little more stable. I can run it through handbrake and drop it to 30.

As far as my issue, I got it resolved on a couple of files but my last one still didn't pull audio. I used Avidemux to convert the audio to AAC and got the audio to come in on 5 of the 6. Any tips for formats to make this easier?
