Optimize parts of source media only(subclicps?)

PostTue May 23, 2017 10:31 am

Hi guys,

I have 3.5 hours of 2.7K media, from which only about 20% is usable at all.
Generating optimized media for all 3.5h will take ages and I probably don't have enough space anyway.

How can I generate the optimized media for the good pieces only?
On the Media tab, where I browse through the source files, preview them set In/Out markers and drag and drop relevant pieces into my media pool, in adds them as "subclips". If I generate optimized media, will it be only for the subclips? I tried a few, but was not sure if it worked.

Or is there another way how I could approach doing this rough cut first to extract the 20% of good footage and then continue with fine cut while having smooth performance?

Thanks!
